Dear CPR Supporters,
Just a quickie reminder:
We’re having our open CPR meeting Tues 12/13/2022 @ 8pm EST (5pm PST).
Yikes, you say, it’s Tuesday already! Indeed. No fret.
But asap, be sure to hop on over to https://www.physicianrights.net/zoommtg12132022 and - quick name & email registration - and BAM! you get your zoom link via that same entered email. So be sure it’s correct! As soon as you do that, you’ll get an email back with the zoom link that’ll pop you right into the meeting. Yes, come in with your camera on; everybody’s mics will be off by default so nobody’s disturbed by other people’s background noise.
I know, there’s no ideal time for docs to attend a meeting. Then again, there’s no ideal time for docs to eat lunch, or even self-care. We know that, and that’s why we’re turning into crazed zombies. But 8pm EST / 5pm PST on a weeknight seemed optimal, or at least doable. You can chime in when we’re on chat in the zoom room to let me know if you’ve got other prefs.
What’s increasingly clear is that we’ve needed a means to come together, build community amongst us, and get to know our shared concerns. The sooner we do that, the sooner we can develop a shared understanding of the matrix of challenges docs are facing, and even more importantly, design specific plans to effect definitive change.
Be assured - you won’t be put on the spot; it’s not a “tell your story” kind of meeting. There’s a different forum for that which we’ll talk about in the meeting.
There’ll also be opportunity for short Q&A after each 20 min part; if you’re familiar with Zoom meetings, we can do these with member mic and camera live if preferred, or just via the chat box. Whatever works best.
And, at the top of the hour, after we close out the “formal meeting,” we’re also trying out an optional interactive session where you’ll have more of an opportunity to interact with each other.
p.s. A zoom guideline: when we get to the optional interactive session, you can then turn on your mic when you’d like to speak, but you’re requested to turn your mic off after you’ve spoken so as to cut down on background noise (e.g. barking dogs; hungry cats; barking, hungry spouses …) coming from various people’s open mics.
And why are we doing this?
to get a little more personal so you know CPR’s more than an occasional newsletter from the cloud;
to have the opportunity to get to know each other a little more;
to hear your key concerns and share the efforts we’ve been making;
to show you a cool project we’re working on;
and to explore ways you might like to get more involved and help CPR become the preeminent voice for physician rights advocacy.
Looking forward to seeing you then!
